2011 Ellerbrook Spirit of Community Award
As a champion of giving back to the community, retired CEO Niel C. Ellerbrook helped guide Vectren to become a leading corporate citizen throughout its service territories. In honor of his legacy, Vectren established the Ellerbrook Spirit of Community Award to be given annually to an employee who demonstrates a strong commitment to community service.
The 2011 Ellerbrook Spirit of Community Award was presented to Greg Alexander, service specialist for Vectren Energy Delivery in Clarksville, Ind. Throughout his adult life, Greg has unselfishly devoted his time and leadership to numerous organizations in and around Clarksville, including Special Olympics, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society and Clark County Youth Shelter and Family Services Inc.
Greg selected the West Clark Football Booster Club to be the recipient of the $5,000 grant to be awarded in his name. This organization has been instrumental in ensuring every student, regardless of financial situation, has an opportunity to play high school sports.
